I wear a suit maybe two to three times a year (weddings, funerals, etc.). I have two suits in my closet now, this black one, and another MUCH more expensive blue suit that I bought elsewhere. For the price, and the number of times I need to wear a suit per year, this suit does the job well. The pants come unhemmed, so I did make a trip to the alteration shop, they hemmed the pants and took the suit coat sleeves up 1/2" or so. I am a 40 regular, but when I ordered the 40 regular in this suit it was a bit too tight, so I returned it and reordered the 42 regular, which fit me pretty well. Most of my pants (shorts, jeans, business casual) are 33" waist, a few are 34". But for this suit I did have to order a size larger, and it worked out just fine.For anyone looking for a slim fit suit, you may have to roll the dice and buy a Korean suit, unless you plan on spending $200+ for one. I hear tale of Calvin Klein menswear sales in multiple stores (i.e. Macy's). If you're looking to get a slim fit suit, CK has one for like $99 right now. Can't vouch for the quality like this Salvatore suit, but I can guarantee a trimmer fit. Took this one to the tailor who did my dress uniforms for years, and she couldn't take it in around the waist without compromising the look of the suit. Pants were baggy also - not around the waist, mind you, just baggy. Guess they think a 38 Short usually has 38" legs too. I'm not kidding, barrel-legs. Easily "accidentally" slip into one leg. Jacket fits great around the shoulders, chest and waist. All the critical points. And the quality is on par with those "$500" Italian suits. The finish and price are why I'm not sending it back. No kidding, great material. Just not a modern/slim fit suit by any stretch of the imagination.This is the first full suit I've ever purchased. Usually I just wear a shirt and tie or a blazer to events that require a little dressing up... But I was in need of an actual matching suit recently, and this was a perfect solution. I just took a chance and went with the standard "waist size plus 6 inches = jacket size" equation. I wear a 38 pants, and since I'm a little on the tall side (6'2") and have long arms, I went with a 44L. The suit arrived the next day (1-day Prime shipping) and I tried it on at work to make sure it fit... This suit fit like it was custom tailored for me. I couldn't have been happier. Both the pants and jacket were just perfect. The sleeves were the right length so that when my arms are outstretched, they weren't too short, and weren't too long when standing with my hands at my sides. The only thing that was required, or course, was hemming the pants since they're unfinished. I've already put the same suit in both Navy and Gray on my Amazon list so I can purchase them in the future. Originally, I was looking for a shiny Sharkskin suit however, I decided to keep this suit as a business suit. The Sharkskin on this suit is a pattern. It is very very nice. The material is super nice and the price was a huge value. I have suits in my closet for hundreds of dollars each and this one takes the cake as far as quality. Look forward to getting a couple more colors soon.My husband has always worn a size 42R, but to be safe, we ordered a 44R, since we figured it was probably made in China for the price that was offered. The suit was a little snug through the back of the jacket, although the sleeve length and the jacket length were perfect. The pants were another story. They said they were 38R, and since my husband wears 36R, they should have fit just fine, however, they were probably about 3 inches shy of buttoning.This is not the first suit I have purchased through amazon, but as with all the others it was a great deal.The suit came packaged well on a large suit hanger, and the pants were un-hemmed as expected. The suit has a tailored shape which really looks good when you are wearing it, the sharkskin pattern is very nice and adds a nice detail.I have worn it a number of times now, and have received many compliments. I liked it so much and it fit so well that I ordered the grey color as well.
